I started school. It. was. so. scary. I didn’t have that many classes with my friends, as I got to change into gifted and talented classes right before school started. It’s been good though. It’s hard. I’ve had homework every single day this week. My teachers are super nice, and I’m starting to get back into the routine of everything going on. I miss my friends I don’t have classes with.

So as follows, school has been driving me insane. Insane. It’s really fun though, I have to admit. It’s still scary. My locker always get jammed, and it’s really starting to bug the crap out of me. Every single time I get a book, I have to get a screwdriver from my teacher and pry it open. I don’t know what the deal is, but I hate it. On the plus side, I have lunch with my friends!

Speaking of friends, you might know my friend Jessica. I’ve posted about her a few times. Well, she has a friend named Ali* and I knew Ali, but I haven’t talked to her much. Anyways, Jess became super close to Ali. Ali plays volleyball. Volleyball tryouts were Wednesday. Getting the picture? Jess tried out for volleyball, and me being her best friend got dragged along. I am very accident-prone, bad at sports, suckish at gym sorts. :P Tryouts were fun. I really couldn’t walk the next day, I was so sore.

The next day, I went to check the cut list, really seeing if Jess made it more than me. She didn’t make it, which was a bummer. But I did. So, I was super confused, because a. I really sucked. and b. I’ve never played volleyball before Wednesday. So I went to tryouts today (Friday) just because I really had nothing to do after school, and Ali was still on the cut.

It was less work today. It wasn’t half as bad. At the end, they all called us over to tell us if we made it. There were some really good players trying out. Really good. I truly didn’t stand a chance. None. Zip. Zilch. Nada (is that Spanish? ) So, now this is kind of obvious of what’s going to happen to me.

Yes, I, accident prone nerd, made the popular volleyball team.

This has changed everything in about 8 hours. It’s really weird. The list of players gets around fast (Facebook, Twitter, texting, etc.) so everyone knew who made it pretty much an hour after tryouts ended. So, changing the subject a little bit, it was the High School’s first football game tonight at 7. This is like a huge deal for everyone who lives here. People were painting their faces, wearing school shirts, the whole thing.

It got rained out. Seriously, 2 hours before the game, it started pouring. So, the game is rescheduled till tomorrow, and everyone went to the movies tonight. Guess what everyone saw? Vampires Suck. God it was so funny! Seriously, whoever made that video is seriously a genius. Go see it. Anyways, everyone at the movie knew I made the team. I was automatically the person everyone was talking to, everybody suddenly knew who I was, just because of making a sports team. It’s weird how popularity goes, huh? Some of the most ‘popular’ kids in school suddenly sat next to me in the aisle. What the heck is up with that? Just weird.

This is really random, but my English teacher gave me one of those stupid book orders you always get in Elementary school, and it has the book ‘Mockingjay’ by Suzanne Collins. It’s the end to ‘The Hunger Games’. Has anyone read them? If you haven’t, they are really good. Please, read them. I’m not giving anything away. Really, it takes forever to understand them, but they are just amazing.

…sorry, that was random. Anyway, I’m going to sleep a little bit early. It’s been a super long day!

Hello there I’ve returned from my short vacation!
I took a lot of pictures. I added 16 to the lowcountry album, added a sailing album, and a tou for my pictures.

The whole fundraising thing probably should be explained. As I mentioned a few blogs before, I got accepted into this academic conference. However, tuition is super expensive. REALLY expensive. SOooooooo, I’m going to do some fundraising. Only, I can’t think of any really good ideas. So, I am wondering if my wonderful readers could post some ideas? Thanks in advance. <3

…I’m an 8th grader! Unofficially! We went to registration yesterday, and it was so much fun! I saw all my 7th grade teachers, which I now miss. But I have some really great teachers this year. I got my yearbook photo taken, and got to walk around the building again. It gave me a headache being back.

My friend Emily (who’s in some of the pictures in my new albums) came down for a visit. It was pretty fun. We went to Savannah and went on a sailing trip and to the beach and to the pool, it was like I was on vacation without being on vacation…but it was fun!

In other words, I made a friend. His name is Horatio.

Yeah, okay, he’s a horseshoe crab that my mom killed. We named a dead crab! Me and Em were on the beach and we see this giant lump-thing in the sand, we freak out, it is a HUGE horseshoe crab. Like the size of a soccer ball. Or a frisbee. It was huge, in general. Our moms came over to try and save it. We put the poor thing on a boogie board and took it out deeper, trying to get it off (it was freaky!) but the tide kept pushing it in! It was so sad, we were shouting “C’mon Horatio, you can swim! You WILL live!”

He didn’t.

It wasn’t our fault though. I think. Maybe he was just old. He kept getting swept into shore, and a bunch of tourists came over and freaked out and started poking it. It was kind of funny seeing their reactions. In the end when we left, he wasn’t moving, so we assumed he had died. My mom was sad, but it was so funny. Then she was afraid that she was going to kill other animals on the beach. It was funny seeing HER reaction to all of this. She was really sqeemish (is that how you spell it? I don’t really feel like looking it up )

I’m taking online school. In 9th grade next year, it’s a required class to take gym and keyboarding. I can take ONLINE GYM! All I have to do is join a sports team and I can take the rest of the course online for next year and get credit. Thank god, I hate gym. I’m pretty athletic, but I seriously hate gym. With a passion. How cool is that?

Have you ever had a really clingy friend? Like, REALLY clingy? This girl I did science fair with won’t leave me alone. At all. She moved down the street from me, and she shows up at my house without asking. I mean, really? I don’t know how to tell her to go away. I try ignoring her, keeping quiet, even flat out telling her she’s annoying, and she won’t listen. I have no idea what to do. Any tips? She’s really sensitive. I remember during school, i didn’t show up one day because I was sick, and everyone said she burst into tears because she thought I was dead. ?

Anyways, I have a feeling 8th grade will be awesome. I’m super excited. I don’t have to do the whole new-kid thing again. It will be a great year. I hope.

Hello!
First, I want to thank everyone for the nice comments on my academic award on my last post. I love my readers, and I appreciate all the nice comments!

So two days ago, we went to Target and had to do school shopping. I had to get so much stuff for eighth grade, it's crazy! I had to buy a calculator that cost about 40 dollars, that we don't even use except for on the EOC's for Algebra.

I have 'Stingray Startup' (cheesy, right?) on the 10th. I'm kind of excited though, because my friend Emily is coming with me, and she doesn't go to my school. She gets to meet my teachers and see my school, for no apparent reason. She was the girl who was in Las Vegas with me. She's coming to visit for about a week before school starts.

So during startup, I have to get my classes (but if you figured out how to get into your school profile online, you can see your classes and teachers *Note if you go to my school and reading this, it's your computer login and password! ) get my school picture taken and ID's made, new bus route, meet my teachers (which most I already have met) and normal back-to-school stuff.

If you ever watch Degrassi (...Katrien ) there's this commercial that came on a ton last night. It's for a movie, here's the trailer. I swear I fell out of my chair laughing.

LMFAO I bought tickets for Wednesday after school. It looks so freaking hilarious. If anybody else sees it, tell me what you think. x)

Yesterday, I was at the orthodontist. I still can’t talk/eat, but that’s not the point. At the beginning of 7th grade year, there was a new girl along with me. We were best friends for about a day, then she dumped me for a lot of popular kids who I guess thought she was ‘worthy’ enough.

She was in the orthodontist office yesterday, and sat next to me. God it was ackward.

Her: Hey! I haven’t seen you in forever.
Me: I saw you Friday at the pool?
Her: Oh yeah! Well, okay…yeah…*starts texting*
Me: ?
Her: Yeah, so, talk to you later?
Me: Okay. Bye!
Then we both sit there for about 5 more minutes till they call me into the office.

I didn’t really know what to say. She treated me like an old friend I guess. Oh well, friendship lost.
I’m glad my friends stick with me. I just hope they always do.

It was a big deal. I was happy. I don’t mean to be gloating here or anything. My parents were happy. I don’t know, i just felt really proud about something that I worked hard for. I feel accomplished! Okay, I’ll move onto the next thing.

I was fooling around with this ring I bought in Asheville. Everytime I look at it, it reminds me of home and my friends and family back home. I feel like I’m happy to just have something to remind me of home. Me and my best friend bought rings together, at Kohls (inside joke) so I’ve had a million rings that we bought together, but this one is the one I got when I spent a week with her.

I guess I’m a little homesick. I would never move back home anyway. My dad was talking to me, if my Mom’s business ever fell through, they would put me in a boarding school in Asheville. Oh well, I love my friends and family up in Asheville, but being where I live now is just such an amazing experience.

Speaking of friends, my friend from school came over and spent the night last night. Her name is Jessica. She’s crazy. Seriously. We saw Eclispe yesterday, then went to Il Carpaccio. I’ve probably mentioned this before, but that resturant is truly amazing. It has the best pizza ever. It’s really thin and so good. Then we came home and played Rummikub and watched ‘The nanny’ until about 2:30 am.

Then it was crazy and all. We got up around 11 am and went to the pool. It was so funny, she was screaming ‘I LOST THE GAME’ as she jumped in the pool. The game is a game where the object is to not think about the game. If you think about the game, you lose. Then you shout: ‘I lost the game’.

Then the lifeguard, this 15 year old guy who lives in our plantation is all like “Crap you crazy people made me lose the game!” and we cracked up! It was funny. I love that girl so much. Here was our ‘photoshoot time’ we had last night.

I might have to make this a semi-quick blog, because I’m about to go out for lunch. I made the owner page, the website page, and the portfolio page today.

Anyways, I learned all about CSS while I haven’t been blogging. It’s really confusing, but now I prefer it to html. It’s so much more easier and better. Designing this layout didn’t take long, but fixing up the minor details did. Coding is really hard at first, but after about a billion questions, I finally figured it out.

Fanfics. What are they? Pretty much a fan’s version of a story. Recently me and my friend Cami have been writing a fanfic called ‘Dark Sun’. I write pretty much 3 hours a day, pretty much at night. After Degrassi goes off, I pull out my notebook.

Writing is really important to me, and I have a lot of fun at it. Sometimes, I keep them to myself. All my writings are in about 3 binders stored in a trunk that I got. I hope to before I graduate high school to fill that trunk up. I’ve only been writing a lot recently.

I’m going to post some of my writings on here. Maybe you’ll like them.

So I’m all set. Only major bummer: I don’t have any content. So for right now it will just be a blog. The pages I do have up are the loved page and my cbox (it’s on the footer!)

What do you think of the layout? I thought of the metro theme on Microsoft Word, and I searched ‘metro’ on Colourlovers, and this palette came up! I love it. Tell me if you think it’s too bright. I really don’t want to make a new layout right now, I’m so sick of codes and files and blah blah blah…
