Sunny Daydream was born Christmas of 2009. I bought the domain Christmas day, but never got the site up until about mid-January. The name comes from my cat actually.
I was daydreaming about him, and his name is Sunny!
People always assume I was thinking about the weather, which in theory, I kind of was.
I started my web designing career like a lot of others: a Warriors fanfic site. It was called Mosswish’s Graphics. It was simple. I used coding from some other people, but I never learned a THING about html.
I closed Mosswish’s Graphics. To this day, I don’t know why. Later on, I opened up a new website, called Serenity Shadows. Can you guess? Another Warriors site. This one was successful. I never knew much about html, and I learned a little. Not much.
When I closed Serenity Shadows, I was done with Warriors. I needed a blog of some sort to keep me in the zone of writing. I opened Just Smile under Juniper’s hosting. It was a train-wreck. I just wanted the site to open. It had cruddy coding, and really bad graphics. I shudder thinking about it!
I didn’t spend much time online for a while, until Christmas.
Mom and Dad had gotten me Microsoft Expression, and a year of hosting and domain services. I was so excited. I got to work starting on a layout. It went good, I used tables however for my coding, which wasn’t very good. The first bit went by and went pretty well.
Later on, I learned all about MySQL databases, and scripts like FanUpdate. When I learned about this, I thought WordPress would be a good idea to up my website a little. There was one issue. I had no clue what CSS was.
I googled countless tutorials, until I found three. One was from Heartdrops, one from Crystalline Hearts, and one from Tabula Rasa. After I studied countless days of CSS and mixed up coding, I came up with a layout.
I had it up for about a day. Yep, that’s how much I hated it. I went to Katrien for help. She explained (patiently) everything for me, and helped me through with all of my issues. I learned a lot about CSS and WordPress, and now I can code by myself, and not have to use tables of some sort.
That’s my web designing history all right!
